Is axe throwing safe?

Axe throwing is as safe as any other sport or entertainment activity of similar genre provided you follow the rules and recommendations of the sport.  And since safety is our #1 priority, we go above and beyond by providing a trained staff member to facilitate.

You will always be in good hands while in our facility.

Will there be training?

Our Axeperts will always demonstrate proper safety and axe throwing techniques during your first few throws. Coaches are present throughout the experience for questions and to help you master your bullseye.

What should I wear?

You absolutely MUST wear closed-toe shoes.  Dropping an axe on your foot is probably the biggest risk in axe throwing, so the sturdier the shoe or boot, the better.  Other than that, we encourage folks to dress comfortably. It's always fun to wear flannel while tossing axes.

How old do you have to be?

Children 10 and older with a waiver on file that has has been completed by a parent or guardian are allowed to join in!  Minors (under 18 years old) must be accompanied by adult chaperones by a minimum ratio of 1 adult for every two minors.

If we doubt the capabilities of a minor to safely throw an axe, our coaches will not allow the minor to participate.

On the otherhand, our alternative foam axe throwing is for all ages, although adult supervision is still required.

Are spectators allowed?

Yes, we have an open concept where you can spectate from the top of the hill or as close as 2 feet away.  Touching of the fence enclosure is not permitted.  We don't want anyone to lose any digits.  Only registered axe throwing participants who have completed the High Trek waiver may participate.

Can I bring my own axe?

Our insurance company informed us that we cannot let you to throw your own axe, unless it was purchased directly from High Trek Axe.

We inspect and maintain our axes for any issues before use.

Yes, we supply all materials and equipment including the axes.

Do you allow alcohol?

High Trek Adventures (HTA) is located on the Snohomish County (SnoCo) park called Paine Field Community park, as such we follow the county's guidelines for alcohol in parks. The Washington state liquor board along with SnoCo parks have a strict policy regarding liquor on public property. Parties wanting to have alcohol need to receive a permit from the State and permission from the county.

HTA has worked with SnoCo Parks in preparing an option for organizers that want alcohol at the venue. In order to have events that allow the consumption of alcohol.  Parties must also have a specific enclosed area designated as an alcohol area (beer/wine tent). HTA has this tent and required fencing that you will rent for an event with alcohol.

The consumption of cannabis is not permitted on the premises.

No matter which activity or activities you are participating in, our policy is, play before alcohol.

Do you offer tournament play?

We would love to offer tournament play if we get enough interest.  Our goal is to offer 8 week leagues in the spring (May-June) and fall (Sept-Oct) for $15 per session.  Email us if you are interested in getting on the waiting list for this.

2.  If you call to book, we can set it up so you only pay a deposit equal to your portion and we can collect the balance from each of the other participants on the day of the event.
